(MURFREESBORO) – “Dance under the stars, mix and mingle, and enjoy a beautiful summer evening that will benefit a great cause,” said Child Advocacy Center Development Coordinator Katie Enzor.
This is where you come in. The Child Advocacy Center needs local businesses, civic groups, and individuals to make the Light Up the Night sparkle. Show our community your commitment to child abuse victims. Sponsorships range from $250-$2,500. Please register online at cacrutherford.org/events by the August 2, 2021 deadline for your name or business name to be included on the invitations.
The Child Advocacy Center works as a multidisciplinary team with the Department of Children’s Services, law enforcement, and the District Attorney’s Office to respond to child abuse cases, investigate the crime, aggressively prosecute offenders, help children heal, and help families rebuild their shattered lives. In the last 21 years, the Child Advocacy Center and the Child Protective Investigative Team have impacted the lives of 11% of the population of Rutherford and Cannon Counties by serving 38,478 people. During the pandemic child abuse cases increased 16%.
“Child sexual abuse and other crimes against children often occur in the dark. This event brings to light the serious issue of child sexual abuse,” said Child Advocacy Center director De Boer. “Come out, enjoy a fabulous end of the summer party, and support the youngest and most vulnerable crime victims in our community—child sexual abuse victims.”
